Lancaster CA. July 8, 2015 – Beginning tomorrow, July 9, Lancaster Energy (LCE) will be hosting an informational booth at The BLVD Farmers Market each Thursday this summer from 4 to 9 pm. Residents and business owners are invited to stop by to learn more about the program and enter for a chance to win JetHawks tickets, LED light bulbs, and more.

LCE is the first municipally-operated community choice aggregator in the State of California and the first to operate in Southern California. As a community choice aggregator, LCE partners with the existing regional investor-owned utility, Southern California Edison (SCE), to offer electric service to all customers in the City of Lancaster. Since being made available to ‘early adopters’ during the first phase of its launch in May, LCE has proven to be a cleaner, more cost effective alternative to SCE. Because the program is operated by the City of Lancaster, every dollar saved via LCE translates to more money being kept within the local economy.

LCE service will extend to all Lancaster residents and businesses in October of this year. Customers will be mailed four separate notices informing them of their impending enrollment in LCE and providing instructions on how to opt out and remain with SCE if they so choose. Those who wish to receive LCE service may simply do nothing and be automatically enrolled in Clear Choice, which provides a lower rate as well as higher renewable energy content than their existing service.
